Oregon is a wonderful place to live and a wonder to those who visit. We are going to be exploring the various regions of the 33rd state whose motto is, “She flies with her own wings” (appropriate for our RVing community). People to vacation or live for extended periods in an RV have a pioneering spirit, they are self-sustained, and eager to explore.
This state can state can be divided into nine regions, each with sites and wonders to explore. On the west we have three distinct coastal areas of the North, Central, and South coasts. On the border with Idaho there is the Northeast and Southeast portions that could account for nearly one half of the State’s land area. In the Middle we have the populated Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon bordering California on Interstate 5. Central Oregon and the Columbia Gorge round out the nine regions.
We look forward to highlighting sites of interest, local history, and natural wonders others might miss. Some of the most notable sites such as Multnomah Falls (hit so hard during the fires of 2017) is on our list; Crater Lake is not in our current plan due to the volume information available for this National Park. We do recommend to anyone that has yet to visit this lake in the caldera of Mount Mazama, add a trip to the rim as a “must see”. The view of Wizard Island is spectacular – especially when you consider the water is nearly 2,000 feet deep.
Load the RV, fire up your GPS, and let’s hit the road!
